SPEAKER & AUTHOR
I navigated trauma, displacement, and arriving in a new country with no English before the age of six—and built a life shaped by purpose. Carried by my mother’s grit, family, and guided by instinct, determination, and storytelling, I now speak so others feel seen, heard, and empowered.

CAMERA READY
Camera Ready: From Hardship to the Spotlight is more than my story—it was part of my healing. Writing this book helped me reclaim my voice, make sense of hardship, and honor the strength that carried me forward. Instinct guided my path, storytelling gave me purpose, and survival became something I could transform into meaning. If sharing my journey helps even one person feel seen, stronger, or less alone, then telling this story was worth it. Our voices have the power to change our lives.

ABOUT ME
My work is rooted in storytelling with purpose—more than three decades of journalism and filmmaking dedicated to elevating the people, places, and histories that deserve to be seen. Through Sevilla Productions, LLC, I create this work alongside my partner, Guillermo Sevilla, and our son, Julian Sevilla, including Historic Places with Elsa Sevilla—my Emmy-nominated KPBS series with 85 documentaries that bring overlooked stories to life and connect communities through history.
My career spans KGTV Channel 10 to KPBS, where my early years in news taught me the fundamentals of powerful storytelling—writing under pressure, producing, reporting, and thinking visually. That foundation shaped my path as a documentary filmmaker, executive producer, and TV host, allowing me to move seamlessly between breaking news and long-form storytelling—always guided by impact, authenticity, and purpose.
